Alternative Dispute Resolution of Employment Disputes:  Private Arbitration/Mediation

In this article Ercus looks at the dispute resolution procedures available in Ireland for the resolution of disputes between employers and employees.

 

*   Ercus Stewart is a Senior Counsel practising at the Bar since 1970. He “took silk”, admitted to the Inner Bar as Senior Counsel, in 1982.   He is also a member of the Bars of  Northern Ireland, England and Wales and Australia (N.S.W.). Ercus Stewart also acts as arbitrator in commercial arbitration, international and domestic.  He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a former chairman of the Irish Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.   He holds Diplomas in International Commercial Arbitration from both U.C.D., University College Dublin, and D.I.T., Dublin Institute of Technology.  Mr Stewart also lectures in law (including Labour Law and Commercial Arbitration) to various institutions, including the King’s Inns law school, Dublin, and University College, Dublin.
