General

Protecting your privacy is important to the MAA. We are committed to protecting the confidentiality of any personal information we hold. This Privacy Statement outlines the MAA's approach in collecting, using, storing and disseminating personal information.

Your personal information will not be released unless the law requires or permits it, or your permission is given. You should be aware that there may be inherent risks associated with the transmission of information via the Internet. The MAA assumes no responsibility for the security of this information.

This web site may contain links to other sites for your convenience. The MAA does not operate or control these external websites and is not responsible for the content or the privacy policies employed by other sites.


Site Visit Data

This website is operated by the MAA with the use of an external service provider. When visiting this site, a record of your visit is logged. We do not attempt to identify individual users or browsing activities. But, in the event of a legal investigation, all this information may be provided to a law enforcement agency.

The logfiles contain the usual anonymous information sometimes known as "clickstream data". The following information is recorded for statistical purposes and is used by the MAA to help improve the site. To demonstrate what kind of data are being logged, please cf. a typical logfile entry:

The number in the beginning is the IP-Address of the visitor (x to be replaced by a digit; for privacy reasons the number is not displayed). It is followed by date, exact time, the requested file, the answer code of the webserver, the transfer volume of the file, the referring website, and finally the browser as well as the operating system of the visitor.

The MAA does not employ any cookies.


Collection of Personal Information

When you e-mail us:

  • we will record your e-mail address;
  • we will only use your e-mail address for the purpose for which you provided it;
  • we may use your e-mail address to send you information relating to the MAA and its activities;
  • we will not disclose your e-mail address without your consent except where the MAA may be required by law to disclose certain information.
Should you decide to use an online form, such as a feedback form:
  • we will record your name, e-mail address and any other personal information provided to us;
  • we will only use this information for the purpose for which you provided it;
  • we may use your e-mail address to send you information relating to the MAA and its activities;
